Architecture, Inc. teamed with the building management at 601 New Jersey Ave. in Washington, DC for several speculative offices and build-to-suit spaces, including BETA Technologies. The 1,505 sf office suite features flexible collaboration areas, amenity spaces, a rapid charging station, and an aircraft simulation room. We worked closely with BETA to design a space in unison with their mission of revolutionizing aircraft travel with fixed-wing models. The scope of services for the aircraft simulation room incorporated BETA's custom ALIA aircraft simulator into the design, along with comprehensive soundproofing and a complete blackout environment to isolate the in-flight experience from the office. A concealed projector and large retractable screen were also implemented to allow live training sessions between the flight instructors and trainees, re-creating how the aircraft reacts to external factors such as turbulence, precipitation, and wind shear.
