The historic Banneker Elementary School holds deep significance within the Loudoun community. Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) is committed to preserving and restoring the building’s exterior while renovating its interior to maintain the school’s legacy and original footprint.
This 61,000 sf project includes renovations and a new addition featuring a multi-purpose room, five classrooms, and ancillary spaces. The multi-purpose room will flex as both a gymnasium and auditorium with dedicated storage and office space. The five-classroom addition will accommodate kindergarten students, while renovations will enhance the cafeteria, kitchen, office areas, and restroom facilities.
The design ensures Banneker Elementary School remains a vital educational and cultural landmark while expanding its footprint to serve future generations.
