Located prominently on L’Enfant Plaza in Southwest Washington, DC, the modernist L’Enfant Plaza Hotel has undergone a complete renovation and reopened as the Hilton Washington DC National Mall Hotel. The complex interior renovation comprises the entire Plaza level containing a lobby, restaurant, bar, kitchen, meeting rooms, ballroom, administrative spaces, and other common areas, as well as the 367 keys on the top four floors. MEP systems, many shared with the eight-story office building component of the property, were upgraded throughout.
The project achieved LEED IDC v2009 – Silver. Sustainable features of this project include 90 Energy star equipment, 11% light power reduction, 40% water use reduction low flow fixtures, 86% construction waste diversion rate. The LEED Silver design is the coordinated effort of Studio HBA, Architecture, Inc., Stanford Hotels, and Hilton.
